I don’t remember the moment my life went bad – there was never a choice between two doors. Instead, there were a bunch of small missteps, each one leading to another, and before I knew it, when I looked behind me, I’d traveled so far into the woods there was no going back.

Thought-pondering and gratifying. The most-awaited finale to the mind-boggling 4MK trilogy will have you flipping through the pages and holding your breath up to the last page.

Who will love it?

If you’re a mystery thriller and true crime fan who also read the first two 4MK books and loved it, then you need to continue with this series and check this book out! Everything finally makes sense and this book splendidly rounded out the 4MK thriller series.

If you haven’t started this series yet, then what are you waiting for?! This is something you need on your TBR list. ASAP!

Where to grab a copy?

This pundit highly recommends finding a copy you can borrow (i.e., from a friend or library), instead of immediately buying a new book. Trees are generally used to make the paper in the books we read so let’s be mindful.

If not possible, that’s only when one should consider buying a new book, and make sure to support your local bookshops. And online shopping (i.e., Amazon or whatever online bookstore serves closest to you) must only be your last resort.

Happy reading!

Detective Sam Porter has been chasing the serial killer Anson Bishop/4MK for years. But a past intentionally buried is about to surface and is making him question the role he's playing. Everything is in chaos after the events of The Fifth to Die, and with a new string of bodies left around Chicago and South Carolina, the case becomes more complicated. But the answers found in the last parts of 4MK's childhood diary is so unexpected, it will not only upend the current investigation but the lives of those involved.

First, if you have not read the first two books, I suggest that you do before reading this one. The story of The Sixth Wicked Child would probably still make sense but I don’t think you’ll be able to appreciate its ingenuity without reading the 2 books.

Given that the story started in the middle of the baffling mystery and cliffhanger that the 2nd book left it, this book kept its own “personality”. It didn’t feel like a part 2 to The Fifth to Die at all. It was totally something else yet it complimented the first 2 books to reveal a complete puzzle that I’ve been trying to solve since Book 1.

As a lover of mystery thrillers, fast-paced stories that kept me flipping through the pages and made me hold my breath to the end are the ones I find the absolute bests. That was what the first book, The Fourth Monkey, did to me (review here).

The 6th Wicked Child though is not as fast-paced as the first, but it was well-controlled in a way that all loose ends are tied in the end without it feeling dragged out.

When it comes to the revelations, if I felt like The Fifth to Die was becoming predictable (review here), this book made me think otherwise. I felt blindsided, but relieved, with the twists that were revealed.

However, there were parts that felt forced to me, like it was written to make something grand out of the story and wow the reader. But when I looked at it after I reached the last page, I realized it made perfect sense and was just natural given the evil genius that was 4MK.
